Big Daddy Advice

Does anyone have any advice for me to help me beat Big Daddys. I got Bioshock on Sunday and vs my first Big Daddy and dam they are hard. I am doing it on medium difficulty and when I vs the first of many Big Daddys I had to use all my First Aid Kits and still ended up dying, but I did actually kill him but at the same time, resulting in my death. I used armour piercing rounds and some bucks on the next Big Daddy and hes even harder coz he has a weapon, I ended up dying but luckily saved before hand and I just turned it off because it was getting late. Any advice at beating them without using all of your First Aid Kits?Big Daddy Advice
I am having trouble taking them out as well. On the second fight with one of the Big Daddys, I first hacked the turrets, then shot at him from a distance. I also used my telekinesis powers to grab the mines, and throw them back at him. Took some time, but I manage to kill him, it was pretty hard. I'd also like some more tips on killing Big Daddys.Big Daddy Advice
use electric shot gun bucks, its ur best betLikewise use electric gel for that flamethrower weaponuse both of them, u will definately be able to kill BD's with ease
I really enjoyed fighting the big daddys lol. Just because on hard it was such an impossible fight at close range. :D
The tactic im currently using on big daddys is to put some proximity mines (you're not far from getting it), use some electric wires from the crossbow (you'll get them eventually), explosive and electric shells from the shotgun, and try hacking, turrets, bots, and cameras, this will help you a lot because they will get the attention of the Big D
Electric Buck Shotgun Shells.
Electric Gel for the Chemical ThrowerOr the hard way, Electro Bolt/Regular Shotgun shells. Make sure if you're using the shotgun that you are shooting them off right at point blank to his face. That way you get the most out of your ammo. Get your timing down or he will come out of the shock and charge you. You'll get the pattern though.Electro Bolt/Shoot him with 2 shells/Sidestep his charge while getting ready to Electro Bolt again and repeat.Hope it helps.
Biggest tip I can give anyone for Bioshock. Is use your research camera A LOT!!! :lol: Love that thing.Going to take a minute to yap about Big daddies, since I am a shameless Bioshock fanboy. First I like to, clear the area, they are about to walk through. Then set a trap, using electric bolts, and proxys. Usually drops him quick. But your on your first, So I would follow him to a turret, hack it. Start with machine gun from a distance. Shoot strafe, shoot strafe, so on. When up close pull back and shotgun. Use you best ammo. If you have any.For the Rosies. I like the electric gel, and electric shotgun shells. Keeps her from backing up to far and railing me to the wall. If your on another level, and you have to use range. I would save all my heat seekers just for the ladies. ) Also, have fun with Cohen.
I'm quite the Bioshock fanboy myself. Another tip for later in the game, when the Big Daddys upgrade and change to Ladies, which are the ranged versions. They will throw explosives at you to start their attacks, you can use telekenisis to throw these right back at them for a good chunk of damage. Also just get used to using a lot of Telekenisis, keep throwing stuff at them, it doesn't cost you much eve and will save you tons of ammo if you get good with it.
He's talking about the FIRST Big Daddy fight. You don't have mines or trap bolts.The first Big Daddy fight is definately the hardest, since all you have is a machine gun, shotgun, pistol, and only plasmids are telekensis, incinerate, and bolt.There are 2 turrets you can hack in that reception area. I'd recommend getting them on your side. The Big Daddy will take both of them out pretty fast, but they'll do some decent damage on him.You're biggest concern should be not using up all your first aids. You proabbly won't have much money to re-buy them or use the healing stations. Let the Big Daddy kill you and re-spawn if you have to, but try not to use up your med-kits real fast.Electric bug, switch to machine gun, empty a clip into him, electric bolt (or incinerate), repeat. All while running backwards around corners.
I have no problem taking down Big Daddys with armor-piercing rounds. They go down fast. When I run out of armor-piercing rounds, I use the grenade launcher and proximity mines.
Just keep trying man! You will learn more tactics and what not the more you play.Try differnt weapons, a variety of magic, differnt tactics, etc...I really enjoyed the game my first time thru, i usually dont beat games really quickly after getting them, but with Bioshock i played for 15 hours in 3 days and beat it. Totally had me addicted! Im a total sucker for good atmosphere in a singleplayer games hehe.I personally used some magic first (Dummy, and a few other things), and then hit them with a bunch of differnt rounds of guns, and then more magic, then back to the guns, etc..If i recall i had trouble with the first two and then from then on i kicked there butt hehe :Phope that helps
Electric buckshot, electric gel, armor piercing rounds, crossbow trap bolts (few of those=easy kill), shock plasmid, hacked turrets/sentrys, any grenades, etc. Also search everywhere for ammo, cash, health, etc. and you'll rarely (if ever) have to buy anything.There you go!
A huge tip though, don't worry so much about dying. When you face big Daddys if there's a Vita chamber around, don't even bother using Healthpacks...just keep chipping away at his health and getting a Rez at the Vita Chamber. The first one is the hardest, because you don't have any good gear yet...They get easier though.

Skip the Big Daddy fight if you're having that much trouble. You will need to learn how to fight Big Daddies, but you can come back to them when you have better/upgraded weapons.
