I agree. The driving was better as was the graphics (of course), but the story is S L O W and the customization is terrible! I can't wait for Saint's Row 2!!!
I'm finding the story amazing, very well written with lots of sub-plots. It exales quality from every bit. Wonderfull, wonderfull game. Contemporanean art. 10/10 no doubt.

I agree, nt with the saint row bit, but customization was non existence. which was a shame. The story was great but i found it too short. Extra content will be a good shout for the future.
i think that this game completeliy deserves a 10/10, this is an amazing game and its not overrated at all.
I also think the game is Mature rated not only for the ''sensitive content'' it has, but also because I think younger gamers might not apreciate the social satire it throws at us, sometimes in a subtle way. And the way the plot is structured some of these fellow younger gamers might find it ''slow'', but it wouldn't make sense, or have this quality, if made in any other way. A game to be trully apreciated, like a fine wine, never in a rush.
The driving was actually an improvement...
??????????? :shock:The driving in IV is awful, and much worse than I remember in SA. Apart from the Turismo, Infernus, Comet and another I can't remember, just about everything else handles dreadfully. You just can't have fun driving around the city, unless fun consists only of driving down perfectly straight roads. The brakes are almost non-existent and every car understeers massively unless you almost stop the car before turning.
I wasnt let down by the game, sure the driving wasnt the best (was original though) and the stort was slow but that was only because it was huge. I liked it, unfortunatly its less fun to freeroam in (singleplayer) since you die to fast. But I'll start using cheats in the near future and I might end up liking this more then GTA3 and SA. Not VC but no GTA game can beat that experience.

This is an improvement for some players but not all and I suspect that most didnt find it great. SR2 will have an high factor of unrealism so more people will like it. Also the driving in GTA4 was done by the physic engine which was something new and I suspect they fine tune the system for the sequel or spin-off.

The story really wasn't that great man.My reaction at first was like most of yours ''this game deserves 10/10'' once you beat it and the hype has worn off, it's mediocre. I haven't even picked it up since I beat it, and I probably wont. It's the camera that hampers the driving to me. The other car you are thinking of is probably the Super GT or the Sultan.
TO be honest, I think it was a letdown... I havent beat it yet and to be honest, I dont feel I need to. This game is just so boring to me as I just cant get into the story like I could with Vice City or even GTA III for that matter. The driving makes no sense whatsoever as a simple turn requires you to almost stop completely to make it or you can tap the handbrake, sending the car into an un-recoverable spin/slide that is super-unrealistic and annoying. The game is good, but not a ''10'' in my opinion as the story isnt that great, horrible driving physics, and just redundant ''stuff'' just culminate to make me bored. A game like this centered around tons of driving should have outstanding physics and be fun, not a rough task. I would have settled for an updated GTA: Vice City---how sick would that have been???!!!

You, sir, have truly hit the nail on the head. I feel this game has much more to offer than just the story, which I find very satisfying. There are the characters, who in my opinion, bring this game to life like none before. For example, there is Brucie (my personal favorite) and the random drug addict chick both of these characters help show the development and true personality of Niko. Then there is the social satire, which is everywhere in the game. The radio, the pedestrians, billboards (That 72 hours one made me laugh), etc. But what truly makes these game great, for me at least, is Niko and his personal history. As you watch him through the cutscenes you begin to realize he is not an individual who just wants people died for the sheer hell of it, he has a purpose and a history.
Mau, I generalized the issue, which can lead to mistakes. Although I find it would be difficult for a 14-15 years old to understand the political/sociological satire/jokes of the game. Of course, there should be cases where one just don't like it, it'd be impossible for everyone to like an item/product. And to be honest, when a game scores real good, is kinda normal to have these threads, innit ?

Thanks Clay. I also love Brucie, did you noticed the ads he has on WKTT ? Freakin hilarious.

The story wasn't horrible, it just used a few tactics I didn't like. Little Jacob is awesome though, and character development was good. It did have you caring about a few of your friends.Wasn't really my place to respond though, I didn't find the Story slow, just had some issues with the Story in general.
Only thing about GTA4, that was a big let down, to me. Was the horrible end. Can't call that ''mission'' a end. That was so damn cheap.Rest of the game was great thoe. Glad to have it.

Have you managed to hear the court show with the black judge on the radio? Hilarious, but I do not know what station it is.
