Possibility of Blue-ray to Xbox 360?

Microsoft has continued to say it will ignore Tobisha's withdrawl from HD and continue producing the external HD-DVD drives for the Xbox 360. Is this the right decision? It seems as if Blue-Ray has won the format war and HD will eventually go extinct. When will Microsoft change their mind? Post your thoughts on what Microsoft should do.Possibility of Blue-ray to Xbox 360?
I thought they stopped making them, especially since they are dirt cheap now.Possibility of Blue-ray to Xbox 360?
I thought they stopped making them, especially since they are dirt cheap now.
Agreed. I thought they stopped as well.
MS has given up on HDDVD. They are selling the drives/dvds really cheap.I have no interest in Blue Ray for 360. It's a nice addition to have for a console, but right now it's just overpriced DVD's. My 360 gets enough hours worth of gaming in, I don't need to be burning it out with movies too...that's just tempting RROD.What does this have to do with gaming? Sounds like Movies to me.Movie format wars, aren't Console wars, so I don't really care what MS does. Not being an ass, that's just what I think.
Microsoft has abandoned the HD-DVD. They've stopped production and slashed the price. Here is the link: http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/51489I occasionally play DVDs on my 360 but I use my DVD player and my PC much more often. Blu-Ray (or any new movie format) won't be tempting until they offer something regular DVDs don't. Microsoft has no need for a Blu-Ray add-on at this point. They've got a pretty large selection of downloadable videos on Xbox Live and developing a Blu-Ray add-on for the 360 after an almost 3 year console lifespan doesn't make much economic sense for the average 360 owner, unless they make it compatible with their next console.
No point in making a blu ray 360,just as there was no real point in making the HD add on.The 360 is 1st and foremost best used as intended-as a games console-thats why it has so many more games than any of its competitors+Microsoft should stay focused on that point.
My thoughts are that Microsoft is planning on incorporating blu-ray technology into their next console because by then, games will actually need and start using the larger storage of a blu-ray disc on the whole. Blu ray now would just drive up expense when MS is at a point now where they will probably start lowering the price for Christmas. Sale are sluggish.

And also, downloadable games should be ready to go too. Blu Ray is doing so hot since the death of its competitor, and I haven't seen any large corporations using it as a storage medium either. We'll just have to wait and see what happens next gen.
