Is GTA 4 multiplayer very good?

Well im getting the game and i was curious how good or bad is the multiplayer?like is it very laggy glitcly etc.?Is GTA 4 multiplayer very good?
It's very fun with friends messing around in Free Mode. I haven't had any lag or glitches whatsoever, but the downside is all the auto-aim usage on ranked games that can make some matches pretty boring. Overall its very fun and different, but I don't think it can take away COD4 or Halo 3 crowds for much longer.Is GTA 4 multiplayer very good?
It's okay. There's nothing wrong with it really, there are various gametypes and if you have the right friends with you, free mode is extremely fun. I guess it's the fact that Halo and COD have such great muliplayer that makes GTA's multiplayer seem not too special. Great game however.
It is better than average, but nothing revolutionary. It's certainly welcome, though. Cops n' Crooks is a blast and screwing around in Free Mode is hilarious. Last night I was playing chicken on the tarmac of an airport with me in a SuperGT (the counterpart of the Aston Martin DB9) and racing full speed in the direction of another player in a helicopter. He was trying to kill me with his rottor blades while I was trying to evade them and make him crash. It is a lot of fun.On the other hand... Damnit, the servers are AWFUL. I get disconnected so frequently as does everyone I speak to. I also have really fast connection and I rarely lag in any game I play. It can get to be a real pain. But I really wouldn't decide your purchase of a single player based game on the multiplayer experience. That would be like buying Condemned 2 for its team deathmatch. :PI really have to say that this should be a definite buy if you are into action adventure games. I am an RPG fanboy, yet GTA IV is easily one of the best games I have ever played. I say you should pi ck it up.
